Calling ALL Shapes + Sizes for our Extended Sizing Project

By Katherine Donnelly on

What's up, TREW world?! Let's talk about extended sizing and fit options. Hurray!

Like the title of this blog suggests, we've been working hard on extending our sizing for future outerwear -- and we need your help! Read on for all of the details, and to learn how you can get involved...

Introducing, our Extended Sizing Project

Tr(ew) to our company mission and ethos, we believe wholeheartedly that everyone should be able to experience the magic of the backcountry - and one way to make this a reality for more people is to offer more options in our gear. This has been something that we have wanted to do for a very long time now, and we are very excited that we're finally in a good position to begin building out an uncompromising technical outerwear line that will fit more shapes and sizes.

Heading into next season, 2022/23, we are aiming to build out our sizing and fits to be more inclusive for all of the beautiful bodies out there taking to the mountains. We have found that both men's and women's outerwear options out there are lacking in a huge way, and it's well past time that more companies offered fits and options for those who don't fit the 'normal' shape that the industry caters to. Of course, if you are a part of this community then you're all too aware of this already.

Who can help, and how?

Currently, we are looking for awesome humans to be fit models and wear testers for our new extended sizes.

  • Fit model = located in/around Portland and can come into HQ for at least 3 fittings starting in September 2021.
  • Wear tester = anywhere in US/Canada that can commit to ~20 hrs of on hill testing (combo of resort and backcountry would be great)
  • Someone can be a wear tester and a fit model!

And we are looking for both men and women in the following sizes:

  • Women: Plus size 2X (which is equivalent to 18, 20, 22)
  • Men: 3XL

You're interested, now what?

If you meet the above requests and this sounds like something you might be interested in - or someone you know might be in - right on!

Anyone who is eager to get involved and fits the criteria above should contact our product design + sizing wizard, Charlotte, at charlotte@trewgear.com. From there, she will get you rolling with next steps and more information on compensation, etc. You can also contact Charlotte with any questions you might have!

As this project progresses, we may have more opportunities for more women and men of different sizes to participate and we will announce any openings at that time. Thank you!
