If you want to design the perfect kit for backcountry skiers and snowboarders, a really good place to start is with the people that live in their gear: professional backcountry guides. So we turned to our friends up north, the Canadian Powder Guides, aka Capow Guiding, aka the Caposse. Led by the inimitable Marty Schaffer, the Caposse is a band of professional guides whose mission it is to merge the worlds of backcountry education and stoke-filled powder shredding. The Capow Guides are incredible sources of inspiration for design not only because they have specific needs themselves, but also because they have thousands of hours of observing clients using different gear in the backcountry. It was from that well of experience and observations that we drew from to design the Capow Kit.
The Capow Jacket is the most breathable, lightweight, and stretchy, waterproof shell that we have in the lineup. It was designed to stay on longer than heavier shells, making transitions more comfortable and quicker in the backcountry.
The Capow Bib is cut from a similarly stretchy and breathable waterproof shell, but with a little more robust and heavier fabric than the Capow Jacket. It is tailored for movement and comfort in the backcountry. It features large vents and an integrated transceiver pocket, designed with the backcountry rider in mind.
