If you mix it up with resort and touring, this jacket packs the best features for weight and packability of any jacket I've ever worn. Loading... Doesn't feel like other hard shells. The stretch is nice also. Very comfortable and flexible. Very lightweight. Looks great. Unmatched customer service. Total win!I always need tall sizes, and the XL fits me. It is roomy enough for layering, and long enough. I love it! Loading... I do wish it had a sleeve pocket for lift ID readers though. I don't think that would add much weight. Loading... Great stormproofness for sitting on a lift in a blizzard but also breathable / ventable for booting and skinning. I caught the sleeve on a branch this weekend while tree skiing and heard that unpleasant sound that made me think I would be looking for ripstop tape in my truck. Nope, nary a scratch. My only quibble is that the zipper pulls are smaller and harder to find than Ted Cruz's dick. But that's a minor complaint. I just ordered another Capow which is idiotic since my first one is just fine but it's insurance in case Trew quits making these and should give me ski jackets to wear from now until I am taking the eternal dirt nap. What I have noticed is that it lacks some pretty standard features. There's no powder skirt, and the collar is uncomfortable on my chin - an offset zipper would've been better. Not only does it lack wrist gaiters or even a thumb loop, but the elastic cuffs make the sleeves constantly want to ride up on my forearms. Also, I find it hard to believe that Canadian guides designed a jacket with a one-direction zipper pull - glacier travel with a harness on is going to be a hassle. I guess I'll pay a seamstress add some of these, but I expected standard features to be included considering the premium price tag. It's a very basic jacket. Loading... As a jacket designed specifically by our good friends at Capow Guiding, this jacket is built specifically for what they wanted and needed from a jacket for backcountry touring all day, everyday throughout the season. This jacket is intentionally lacking some of the features that you will find on our other jackets to keep weight down, as the Capow jacket is our lightest option and the moist streamlined to keep things light and fast for long days on the skintrack. After many seasons of testing with this jacket, we also removed any center two-way zippers as testers found that not only were they unnecessary but they also created more of a durability concern than anything else (two-way zippers are notorious for reducing the longevity of a garment after just a season or two). All this to say, the Capow Jacket was made with clear intentions in mind and the set of features (and lock of some) is intentional - whereas the price point accounts for the high performance waterproof/breathable fabric and rugged construction that does not come cheap. (as much as we wish it could). If you would like to return the jacket or trade-in for a different option, just get in touch with our customer support team and we can make sure that you are satisfied with you gear heading into the future!
