By Katherine Donnelly on

Yep, you read that right: our Nuyarn merino collection is back - and better than ever!

Allow us to introduce to you the first installment of our brand new 2022 Nuyarn Merino collection. With longer days and high temps, our new Lightweight Nuyarn Merino tees are just the thing to help keep you calm, cool, collected, and stoked on your summer adventures.

With our new Nuyarn merino tees, you can forget about the sweat and stink and focus on the fun!

While we will have more Nuyarn items launching later in the summer, we now have three unique t-shirt designs available online. Everything about these new t-shirts was a massive collaboration on all levels, from the design team at TREW to our vast community who jumped in lend their ideas, feedback, and insights on what they like, love, and want from their merino layers. These years of invaluable back and forth, combined with Nuyarn's latest technology, and what we have to show for it all is the best frickin' t-shirt we've ever put on. Sure, we might be biased -- but we're 99.9% certain that, if you give this shirt a try, you'll agree with us.

This isn't just your average merino wool - it's Nuyarn, and it's jam-packed with a long-list of features that will ruin all other clothes for you. And the best part is that Nuyarn is durable and comfortable, so you can live in your new favorite top and not worry about having to replace it anytime soon....

TREW Launches Nuyarn Merino T-Shirts

These aren’t your average merino wool tees.

Portland, OR – TREW has recently unveiled their brand new product collection of Nuyarn merino wool tees, and just in time for those outdoor summertime shenanigans.

TREW’s Nuyarn merino t-shirt collection is a collaborative effort between the design team at TREW and their beloved customer base, with countless conversations and extensive community polling taking place over the past two years. With the help of customer input, TREW has dialed in a product line that hits all of the marks for customers – from colors and designs, to fit, sizing, and features – all built upon the impressive technology behind New Zealand merino wool company, Nuyarn.

Nuyarn uses a revolutionary, twist-free technique in spinning wool to better harness merino wool’s natural attributes, resulting in the world’s first performance wool. When compared to traditional ringspun wool, Nuyarn:

  • has 35% more volume and aeration
  • is 5x faster drying
  • has 85% more elasticity
  • has 35% more thermal retention
  • is 35% more resistant to air
  • has 50% greater burst strength
  • is 8.8x more resistant to abrasion
  • has 120% strong seams

Nuyarn’s benefits create an incredible material that is supremely comfortable, extremely durable, and ready for anything. TREW and Nuyarn have worked together in the past, previously launching three separate iterations of wool products between 2015 and 2018. With a long hiatus due to supply chain obstacles over the past few years, both companies are equally excited to embark on a new chapter together with this first launch of the new and improved TREW Nuyarn merino collection.

“Our customers rely on us to create products that will last, there simply isn’t another merino wool on the market with the longevity and performance of Nuyarn. Not to mention, thanks to some amazing new designs and a collaboration with our customers, this is the best looking collection of merino t-shirts that we’ve ever released.” - Chris Pew, CEO

While the Nuyarn merino collection currently consists of three t-shirt designs in 8 different colors and various different designs, TREW promises to launch even more Nuyarn products – including base layers to pair with their renowned outerwear -- as Fall approaches.
