Washing your outerwear couldn't be easier, and to get you started we've created a fun and helpful video tutorial that you can see here.
Our typical advice is to wash when dirty. since dirt and grime on the fabric will impede performance; a good wash + dry cycle can make the difference between a bad day of wet butt and a stellar day of bell-to-bell pow laps.
When you do wash your item(s), make sure to use either a technical detergent (Grangers, NikWax, etc) or a gentle, plant-based household detergent - and make sure to tumble dry at low-medium heat after the wash cycle until the garment is dry!
YES! While the common misconception is that outerwear shouldn't be dried, the reality is that washing AND drying your items will keep them living longer and performing better. Drying your outerwear is crucial, as it reactivates the DWR coating after the wash cycle - essentially restoring the waterproofing properties of the fabrics so that you stay dry when you head back out to the mountains. As a standard rule, we recommend tumble drying your item(s) at low to medium heat until the item is dry and warm to touch.
We have a robust warranty and repair policy that will keep you and your gear happy for years to come. All outerwear is covered by the TREW Warranty, a 3 year protection against manufacturing defects; if purchased at full price, outerwear is also covered by our Tried + TREW policy which protects your item(s) against wear + tear as well for the first year. All zippers are covered against manufacturing defects for 1 year. All non-outerwear items and Outlet items are covered for 1 year warranty against manufacturing defects.
While we hold true to our policy as outlined in more detail here, we are always here to help out; we know that sometimes sh*t happens, and we offer reasonable repair costs for any items no longer covered under the TREW Warranty. You can learn more about getting a repair from our partner shop, Rugged Thread, here.
