Gilles Sierro x TREW Ex Div.

Le Skieur Anorak is the product of a two-year collaboration with Swiss Mountain Guide, Gilles Sierro, and the TREW Experimental Division. The prompt was to reimagine an ultralight touring shell to Gilles’ specifications and effortless style. We can sum up Gilles' style with this mantra: make hard things look easy and have no wasted effort.

TREW Ex Div brought this mantra to life by creating a backcountry shell that is easy to move in and intuitive to use with your backcountry system. Every feature and detail is intended to help the wearer flow through the mountains with style.

Waterproof

The LW 3L fabric has a 20,000mm rated membrane, and will keep you dry in nearly every kind of weather you might encounter.

The Fit

Designed with the minimalist in mind, this jacket has our slimmest and longest fit.

Breathability

Our lightest and most breathable jacket, the Le Skieur Anorak is built specifically to keep that air flow game strong while moving fast up and down mountains.

Durability

With high breathability comes a loss in durability, so take a bit more care around trees + edges with this LW 3L kit.

Lightweight Minimalist Style

I was super impressed with this jacket. It’s a no frills, lightweight jacket that actually looks good an is a free ride fit. Often times, I’ve been disappointed with the fit of a lightweight touring jacket as they’re usually slim or have a “ski mo” look. No disrespect to the ski mo crowd but this jacket is a stylish look for those who get after it in the backcountry and like to look good doing it. The half-zip took a day to get used to but it wasn’t a thing after that. Very breathable and wind / waterproof. Would recommend for any backcountry skier who believes in the philosophy of “look good, feel good, ski good”.

Good design

Half zip brings some benefits ; not disrupted by backpack's hip belt , easy access to the bib pockets and prevents zippers from miss-closure troubles because you can't open up the zipper (it doesn't apart in two pieces). It looks not easily putting on and off, but the full opened side zipper helps very well. Two inner mesh pockets are well sized. Long tail design without snow skirt is very reasonable and useful. The only problem is the small hood. I hope it were larger to wear on the helmet easily. . . I can wear it, but not feel comfortable. Anyway, I love this anorak.

Hut Trip Approved

This is a rad anorak that will definitely score you some style points! It is absurdly light (and almost see through) but still keeps you warm and dry. Is it the warmest or most bomb proof shell? No, if you do a lot of bush wacking or get caught in cold wind or the rain often, you may want something more substantial. Is it harder to get on than a full zip? Sure Is. Is this one of the best lightweight shells for backcountry touring here in Colorado? Yep I think so. Fits a puffy underneath, has well placed and thought out zips, breaths well, covers the butt and looks pretty good. Couldn't be happier.

Greatest Jacket I Own!

I have had a number of Trew jackets and this is by far my favorite. The construction is incredibly light weight but still feels durable, and has stood up to me running it through the ringer. On tours it feels really breathable and the zippers are perfectly placed to give you some breathing room and mobility without interfering with your movement. Its seen wet Rainy PNW days and never soaked through, to 0 degree Colorado days where it blocked the wind out perfectly. All in all I would absolutely recommend, if not say get rid of your other jackets and just buy this guy! Also come on the purple is probably one of my favorite colorways Trew has released, how could you not love it.
