It’s a no frills, lightweight jacket that actually looks good an is a free ride fit. Often times, I’ve been disappointed with the fit of a lightweight touring jacket as they’re usually slim or have a “ski mo” look. No disrespect to the ski mo crowd but this jacket is a stylish look for those who get after it in the backcountry and like to look good doing it. The half-zip took a day to get used to but it wasn’t a thing after that. Very breathable and wind / waterproof. Would recommend for any backcountry skier who believes in the philosophy of “look good, feel good, ski good”. Loading... Verified Buyer Ski or Board Tele Ski Backcountry vs Resort Primarily Backcountry Age 30-34 Height 5ft 8″ Weight 145-149 Size Purchased XS Rated 5 out of 5 Good design Half zip brings some benefits ; not disrupted by backpack's hip belt , easy access to the bib pockets and prevents zippers from miss-closure troubles because you can't open up the zipper (it doesn't apart in two pieces). It looks not easily putting on and off, but the full opened side zipper helps very well. Two inner mesh pockets are well sized. Long tail design without snow skirt is very reasonable and useful. The only problem is the small hood. I hope it were larger to wear on the helmet easily. . . I can wear it, but not feel comfortable. Anyway, I love this anorak. Loading... It is absurdly light (and almost see through) but still keeps you warm and dry. Is it the warmest or most bomb proof shell? No, if you do a lot of bush wacking or get caught in cold wind or the rain often, you may want something more substantial. Is it harder to get on than a full zip? Sure Is. Is this one of the best lightweight shells for backcountry touring here in Colorado? Yep I think so. Fits a puffy underneath, has well placed and thought out zips, breaths well, covers the butt and looks pretty good. Couldn't be happier. Loading...
