THE AFTERLIFE x BLACK STONE STITCHWORKS

By Jess Joyner on

INTRODUCING:

THE AFTERLIFE x BLACK STONE STITCHWORKS

Michael sews beautifully crafted and fully custom bike bags out of his studio in Portland, OR. He has been a self-professed bike nerd since the 90's - whether it was BMX, freestyle BMX, dirt jumping, 26” cruisers, or mountain bikes - he always had a bike around. We've had our eye on Black Stone for some time now and could not have been more excited when they gave us a "hell yes" on creating a collection of bags out of recycled TREW outerwear for our Afterlife Program.

ADVENTURE HIP PACK COLLECTION

Whether you are gravel grinding, bikepacking, ripping backcountry single track, day-hiking, searching for lost waterfalls, exploring the urban jungle, or just taking the dog for a walk, the Adventure Hip Pack holds all the essentials +plus some for your best full day excursion! Oh and did we mention that each bag is a one-of-a-kind handmade piece made from recycled TREW outerwear?!

MEET THE MAKER

Black Stone Stitchworks makes handcrafted MTB Hip Packs and other durable cycling and adventure goods out of their studio in Portland, OR!

Founded during the COVID-19 Pandemic, owner Michael Young combined his multi-decade love affair with biking and a new vision for his life that allowed him to express the creativity that felt stifled in his 9 to 5. He started off making packs for his own trips, with rigorous testing and prototyping to get them just right before Black Stone officially launched their design in January 2021.

When not building packs, Michael can be found shredding the sweet loamy ribbons of singletrack throughout Oregon, and spending time adventuring with his family.
