Almost perfect

Just back from ski touring for 7 days in Japan where I finally got a chance to adequately evaluate the Capow bib. It was deep, cold and often windy in Japan and the bibs kept me dry and warm despite their light weight. The many pockets are versatile, giving options for where you want to put your transceiver, phone, snacks and assorted other items. The fabric and material were breathable but did an excellent job protecting me from the elements. The overall quality of the construction seems great. I have just a couple of issues with the fit and I realize it's difficult to design clothing for the myriad body types out there but at 5'7" even the short is way too long. Before I have my boots on I have to cuff them a couple of rolls to keep them from dragging on the floor. Once boots are on with gaiters they don't drag but the excess length just bunches up above that. We have a local person here in Boise that can alter technical clothing and I'm going to look into having them shortened but I'm left wondering what height person is the short for? I added a belt to keep the "waist" where it needs to be. A less critical issue is the length of the shoulder straps which I was able to shorten to the length needed but it leaves a lot of excess which I'll also likely address if I can have them shortened.

Love these

I love these so much. I had been wearing TREWth bibs for a few years and they are great also, but I wanted the shorter length option. I waffled for ages but so glad I finally got them. They are super super super comfortable. I just wish the matching jacket didn’t have the weird green zippers or I’d complete the set! Definitely buy these though if you are looking for a new bib.

Tall people rejoice

Finally someone made an actual tall. I dont understand why the majority of companies consider 34” inseam tall. I am 6’5” with a 36” inseam and these bibs actually fit. Aside from being long enough they seem to be pretty durable and well constructed. The dual leg zips both on the outside and inside of the legs are great for touring. Thank you Trew! And please keep making longs.

Best Touring Pants

Just finished my first backcountry trip with these bibs. Basically, they are the new version of the Roam bib which I've had for years. The lateral and medial thigh vents really help shed heat on the skin track. The pockets are large enough and all but the thigh pockets had anchor points. I had my transceiver in one chest pocket and radio in the other, separated but both anchored which is nice. The shoulder straps are stupid long. I cut off nearly a foot and stitched the ends. I could have cut more. The fit is a tad off to me. The chest, waist, and legs feel baggy but the seat and crotch were a bit tight. I'm 5'11" 195lb and tried a L but traded for an XL. I'm not sure the material would endure daily resort skiing but for touring I haven't found anything I like better!
