BEWILD 3-LAYER

The combination of a highly breathable, ultra-thin membrane and a circular knit backing makes our BeWild Jacket unlike any rain jacket fabric you’ve ever felt. Which is a good thing.

HIGHLY BREATHABLE
Waterproof / Breathable

We’ve used 100% polyurethane membranes for our waterproof/breathable products for years because of the dependable and durable performance. Paired with the right face fabrics, we can also create uniquely stretchable laminate fabric. Our BeWild 3-layer fabrics are super thin, stretchable, and breathable.

  • 20,000 mm waterproof
  • 40,000 g/m2 breathable  (MVTR)
SILKY SMOOTH
8-Denier Circular Knit

Most 3-layer laminate fabrics are backed with a 20-denier tricot knit. Recently, by improving the lamination and adhesives, we’ve been able to use a much finer-gauge knit fabric for the laminate backing. The BeWild 3-layer backing is an 8-denier circular knit.  The finished fabric is about 20% lighter than traditional backings, while the next-to-skin comfort is unmatched in technical fabrics.

  • 8-denier circular knit
  • Fabric weight: 2.6oz
DWR
Durable Water Repellent Coating

A high-quality DWR coating enhances the performance of the fabric by protecting the surface from dirt and oils. We only use DWR coatings based on the environmentally friendlier short-chain (C6) fluorine compounds, which won't degrade in the environment into PFOS and PFOA.

I'd be tempted to buy this if all black without an orange zipper was possible.

Stylish rain gear that works equally well in the frontcountry and backcountry. The material of the jacket does not feel slimy against your skin and breathes like a soft shell jacket. I have worn the jacket on several downpours both on the trail and around town on my bike and the jacket offers legitimate protection from the rain. Good quality zippers with storm flaps on all of the pockets and the jacket does fold up into the chest pocket. I wish the chest pocket featured a double sided zipper pull, but the jacket still stays packed in the chest pocket without the zipper closed. The seams are all sealed and the draw string for the hood is behind the hood and is easily tightened with a single pull. Additionally, there is a reinforced media port in the chest pocket for your MP3 player. Solid design and great color schemes to choose from. TREW continues to impress with the quality of their gear and functionality of their technical apparel. Looking cool and staying dry in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks Trew!

The Bewild jacket is LEGIT! It checks off every box in the book and then some. Is it waterproof? Yup, thats the easy part. How about comfortable? Hmm, feels silky and stretches in all the right ways so no problems here. Is is breathable? Hell yes, proved that one a couple trail runs in the rain. Last question... is it solid black, some variant of bright blue, or office desk grey? Nope. No way. This jacket is not only waterproof, super comfy, and packable, but its also stylish! Growing up in the 90's, the aquamarine colorway makes me feel like the fresh prince of Bel-Air. The colors, accents, and attention to detail on this jacket are super fun and well put together. This jacket is prime for hiking, trail running, climbing, and even splitboard volcano conquering in the PNW. Get with the trewth and add this jacket to your rack asap! P.S. Sizing tip - I'm 5'9", 175", athletic build with broad shoulders. Ordered the Medium and it fits great. Length to the waist and arms are perfect, even in motion. Can fit a mid-layer puff underneath if necessary, but it gets a bit tight around my shoulders. Cheers!

Absolutely LOVE this jacket, it is unlike any rain shell I have ever owned. It is light, flexible and breathable. It feels like you’re wearing next to nothing but keeps you bone dry. Don’t know how Trew developed the fabric for this coat but it is amazing. You get the flexibility and weightlessness of a wind break and the water proofing of a 20k shell. This is my 4th Trew jacket and they continue to just get better and better.

Sizing question - I am 5’11” 200 lbs. I have the Up Jacket in Large and it fits me well, although I would say it is an “athletic” fit as it is somewhat snug, especially in the shoulders. Should I get a large in this jacket or size up to an XL? I’d like to be able to layer comfortably under this shell.
