If there is anything that rivals shredding our home hills on a snow day, it might just be the sheer joy of watching our dogs getting the zoomies in a layer of fresh. Capturing that untamed giddiness that keeps us coming back to our skis in the first place, we can't help but cheese out. ^BUCKY Chris's dog Bucky was a shelter dog named Lucky. Lucky was too cliche, so they switched it to Bucky. Also, he just looks like a Bucky. Bucky likes salmon skin and dislikes fireworks and getting into the truck. Favorite Day on Snow It's been many years since Bucky went skiing; now he just like to lie in the snow. ^JOSSI Katherine's dog is named after the skier Jossi Wells. He likes ear rubs and butt scratches, his nightly glucosamine treats, his resident toddler Ada (except for when she pulls on his tail), blueberries straight off the bush, sunbathing. Not so fond of delivery guys, other dogs who have balls, pugs, sharing. Favorite Day on Snow In his early days he used to tour with me, but these days we’re big fans of burrowing in snow drifts and rolling around in slush. He’s enjoying his retirement in the mountains of western Maine. ^WYLIE Jess's dog was named after his stunning resemblance to Wile E. the Coyote (though I guess we kinda dropped the ball on the spelling). Wylie is a big fan of ripping a bermed corner on single track, finding chicken bones on the street, and running through ankle high surf. He could do without fetch, dog toys, doing tricks, and most doggish things. Favorite Day on Snow A spring ski tour without any POW in sight. He's a real groomer guy. Bonus points if the humans forget to put the doggles on. ^TSUGA Andrew's pups name is Latin for a Hemlock Tree. Tsuga gets stoked on couch lounging, chomping carrots, and rolling in the grass. But he's not so keen on going back inside after a walk and those intimidating floor lamps though.
