TREW To You Season 1 Alumni: SWITCH by Carson Sharp

Posté par Jess Joyner le

A ski film by TREW x Carson Sharp is now live on youtube - SWITCH

TREW To You Season 1 Alumni Carson Sharp made a rad ski film!

We first got to know Carson from his participation in the very first season of our film project - TREW To You - with his crew VVXtreme, a group of freeride, park, and big mountain skiers based out of Revelstoke, BC. The skiers connected naturally in Revy and began putting in big days out on the hill and pushing where they could go with their skiing before deciding to apply for the film project. Carson was a filmer and editor on their film submission back then and was scheming on an idea for a personal project born out of his love of skiing big lines, well, switch. SWITCH ~ The Ski Film was born!

Carson shares more about how SWITCH came together.

For the Switch project, we shot throughout the month of March (2025) in Revelstoke, and Golden BC. Conditions lined up and it was steady snowing for the most of the month with sunny days here and there. Avalanche conditions were pretty touchy for the entire month, so rarely did we ski in the alpine, and if we did we had to be super careful.

Lots of amazing pillow skiing in the area so we took advantage of the snow and skied a bunch of pillows! It was a 2 person team the entire month, myself and a Filmer every time we went into the backcountry. Shoutout Tyler Correll, Aaron McCartney, and Justin Kennedy for helping me out, It’s not easy doing it with 2 people.

At the end of March, my sled broke, It warmed up, and I was left wondering what I was still doing in Revelstoke. On a whim I bought a new(er) sled and headed to the coast to try and get one last crack at winter. I ended up linking up Wiley Miller, Giray Dedali, and Ed Clem. The only good snow was up high, but things lined up and we had a few good days of visibility up there, going mega deep in the backcountry to ski lines at 2300m.

Those days were probably some of my best of the season, and to do it with those guys was a dream come true. We shot the last few clips for this film on a slushy, sunny day in April. Myself and Patrice Poulin, two Ontario boys on the mission. We built and sessioned 2 jumps that afternoon and finished up filming at the top of the mountain at 8pm (The misty 7 clip). What a way to cap off the season!

Rarely do I say this, everything (mostly) worked out in my favour this season with only a few minor setbacks. I had a tough couple of winters before this one, so it felt good to get a good one this year. It was definitely one for the books and I’m grateful to have gotten this opportunity. I hope people can watch this video and get excited to experiment with their riding, to try and bust out a switch turn, to have fun with it!
