Another year, another set of fresh PRIMO colors - and we’re back with our favorite Queen of Color Kellyn Wilson to give us a peek at her inspiration and process when locking in pantones for our PRIMO collection:

“We always want our colors to feel true to TREW. No one has more fun in the mountains than someone in a TREW kit, and the colors should reflect that. This time around, we leaned into a more nostalgic, archive-inspired palette. Shades that feel familiar, like they could’ve stepped out of an old ski film. We focused on elevating the trims and keeping details sharp and cohesive across colorways, making it easy to mix and match. This collection is also a great bridge between colors from last year and what's coming next season, so there's an opportunity to build a quiver of shades that speak to you!” 

expedition ultraviolet/indigo

“Expedition Ultraviolet was the combination that set us off on this nostalgic color palette journey. And this one is for those in the TREW family that love our purple shades and the color blocking that is synonymous with original TREW designs. 

As you can see in the inspiration photos, this is a color palette that has accompanied outdoorsmen and women on so many adventures. It's the multicolored ropes and shiny down jackets that have become hand-me-down staples. It’s a colorway with history, and it’s been itching to get back out into the mountains!”

mighty pine

“Staying in the realm of timeless, heritage-inspired colors, this is TREW’s take on Mighty Pine. It’s the color of my childhood camping memories. My dad’s faded green coat, a thermos of hot chocolate, mist rising off a lake in the morning. It feels right outdoors. 

It’s also an incredibly versatile shade that pairs beautifully with other TREW pieces and grounds brighter colors in a really natural way.”

mountain maize/gold

“This is a really classic and nostalgic shade of golden yellow. We obsessed over getting this color just right in these materials. Not too yellow, not too gold. It’s perfect. I'm hard pressed to find a color that looks better on a sunny bluebird day against the bright snow and blue sky, that also shines on a storm day in the blowing snow.”
