The interior elastic cuff snow gaiter is VERY snug. Because I purchased these from the outlet I am not able to return the pants, so, I have taken them to a seamstress to have them altered. As purchased, the snow gaiter is extremely difficult (almost not possible) to stretch over, and then off of, the top buckles of my (Roxa) alpine ski boots. Waaayy too tight. Otherwise, these are very nice pants. For size info, I am 6’ tall, 170lbs, usually wear size 33 or 34 waist. The small size, regular length, fits me very well with plenty room for base layer underneath. Just FYI, I have been a nordic, alpine and backcountry skier for many decades. Loading... I cannot speak to the waterproofing or breathability. The fit is excellent. Sizing was true to the size guide. They are a loose fit without being baggy. There is room for a heavy mid layer on the coldest days. The material feels quite sturdy and durable with a good amount of mechanical stretch. The quality of the stitching appears excellent. Pockets are well thought out and functional. Tons of vent zips to dump heat on those warm spring days. This is a great pair of pants! They feel like they will last multiple heavy seasons and hold up to a lot of wear and tear. This is my first purchase of Trew outerwear and I am extremely impressed. Loading... Like the vents on inside and outside of leg for dumping heat quick. I love the fit, but had I not reached out to Trew for sizing advice, I would ordered something else. I prefer a more fitted look, so went with a Small and they’re perfect. 6’1”, 180#, 32/33 waist and instep fwiw. Only negative I van think of is the front zipper pickets are a little tighter than I’d prefer (like hard to get my hand into). Loading... Trew delivered. I did size down from my normal size Large to a Medium. I still have plenty of room in the waist + room in the seat and thighs if I want to wear an insulating mid-layer pant. The thigh pockets land above the knee which opens the options to what I can carry. I really like the new zippered mid-thigh pocket on the right leg. This has become my go to for carrying my phone, but would also be perfect for a beacon. If only it had a mesh phone/beacon sleeve - it would be perfect. The "hand pockets" are not the most accessible due to the flap design, but work well for items I do not need to access often - like keys and/or my wallet. One nice surprise was the extended coverage of the "Tech Steel" cuffs - even more than the TREWth bibs. I hope the extra coverage will prevent those random ski/branch encounters I seem to pick up. Love these as an option for warmer/chill resort days. Loading...
