I bought this sweater last year (Fall, 2015) and have broken it out again for this season. It was my first piece of Trew gear and I couldn't be happier! While there isn't a lot of call for layering in North Carolina, this has been excellent as an all-"winter" daily-wear jacket in our climate. Aside from using it as a daily jacket in NC, I have used it as a layer under my shell while skiing and brought it traveling almost anywhere during the cold months. When they say it only weighs 9.9 ounces, they aren't kidding. A light breeze could blow this thing away. Don't think that makes it any less warm, the 850 down fill is awesome and the outer fabric is actually pretty durable. I was a little hesitant to get a puffy because I was worried about it's durability, but after all the wear I've put this sweater through I haven't had a single snag or issue with it. I'm 5' 11", about 180 lbs, and it fits pretty well. Although it is a little puffier tha
n Patagonia or North Face jackets, it compresses really well when under a shell, or into its pocket for traveling or stuffing into a backpack on a trek.

I wore this down sweater for the first time yesterday while skiing at Monarch Mountain, CO. This garment is very light weight and non bulky. I had my doubts how such a light weight jacket would keep me warm. I wore it under my Cosmic jacket with a light weight TREW long underwear top. During my first lift ride to the top of the mountain, it was around 25 degrees with a light wind. I was completely toasty with this combo. By my fifth run I was sweating. I was really surprised by the weight to warmth ration of this down sweater. This was a great purchase for me. As with all TREW gear I own, the quality and construction was outstanding. I have been skiing in TREW gear for 3 years and have never been disappointed.

Last year i bought my first Trew gear (beast shell jacket), and I love it. I was in the market for a puffy and i decided to go with Trew because I think their gear is really well constructed and I like the fact they are a small company with a great business model. anyways, I purchased this sweater recently and I have worn it every day since it came in. I have used it under my shell while Touring, and resort skiing. I have also used it as a casual jacket. It is simply amazing. I was between this and Patagonia's Nanopuff. the nano puff is thinner but I am so glad that I purchased this. From now on, all my outerwear will be TREW gear. I am 5'-10" 175lb. I got the medium. it fits well. its just slightly bigger than I would have liked but its not too big my any means.
