Form and Funk-tion

It used to be you had to choose between a jacket with modern styling or a jacket that would keep you dry, hold all your gear, and last longer than a season. We believe style and substance can go hand-in-hand, and the Powfunk Jacket’s smooth and irresistible blend of function and form is our manifesto. Featuring a longer freestyle fit, storage options for days, and our highly breathable, weatherproof, and durable PNW 3L fabric, the Powfunk brings more to the party than your average technical shell. In the words of Funkadelic, “If you got funk, you got style”.

Solid material and jacket

2xl Powfunk

Im 6.1 and 260lbs so I was a little worried about jacket fitment but it fits great.
Haven't worn it in snow yet as I'm in Australia and its 40'c at the moment but I've tested its water proofing in a cyclone. Works awesome

Way to big

Size chart said the jacket would fit but it was way to big.

Hi Jude, so sorry to hear that the Powfunk was too large for you. The Powfunk is definitely on the larger + baggier side of the spectrum, while our Capow and Cosmic jackets are more streamlined for a closer-to-the-body fit. We hope that you will consider trying out one of our other offerings down the road.

Just got this jacket for the 19/20 season and the new PNW fabric is amazing - soft to the touch but tough as nails! If you're cross shopping the Powfunk and the Cosmic (which I've also reviewed, so check that review too) I would recommend this for someone who gravitates to the free ride (longer and looser) side of fit, the Cosmic is more of a minimalist alpine fit. Speaking of minimalism, this jacket is far from it when it comes to storage space. If you want to pack the kitchen sink for your next shred day the Powfunk has a pocket just for that. I typically like to carry a few odds and ends while on the hill or in the slack country and could never see myself running out of space or the jacket getting to the point of too snug even when I'm loaded up for a bit of hike. I would recommend this jacket to someone who travels on the not so side of life, wants to roll in the style on the hill or off the hill when the après hit full effect, or someone who likes a fuller (more room for layers/more room to tweak and poke) cut on their kit.

Powfunk Jacket

So far this jacket has been excellent. At first I was worried the sleeves were too long but after wearing it now on several trips to Mt. Hood it's great to be able to move freely and still have the cuffs stay over the gloves right where they belong. Pockets in all the right places and feels very well built, not to mention IMO very stylish. Very small detail I wish it had is a loop to hang it up with but you can use the hood or a hangar.
