Why the name TREW?
Our name is a hybrid of our founding fathers, Tripp and the Pew brothers. TR+EW
Why manufacture your gear overseas and not in the USA?
A lot of the best manufacturers for high-performance fabrics are located overseas. The United States has great manufacturers for basic knitwear, but for our premium technical outerwear the only machines up to the challenge were in Vietnam, China and Bangladesh. Quality is everything to us, and we wanted to make sure we gave you the best product at the best price that you could find.

Ordering & Shipping

How I determine which size will fit me best?

How do I return an item for a refund or repair?
For returns and exchanges, please visit our Returns & Exchanges page for more detail on the return process. For all damaged gear or inquires about damaged gear, please visit our TREW Warranty page.
Why do I need to pay a restocking fee on a return?
We charge a restocking fee for product returns to help cover the handling cost associated with the restocking of that item back into our inventory, as well as to recoup a portion of the return shipping cost of the provided return label. This restocking fee will not be charged on any returns that are due to defective product, wrong items, or missing parts.  To avoid paying the restocking fee, you can return your product for store credit!
What payment methods does TREW accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Discover, and PayPal. We also accept Apple Pay and Amazon Pay.
Do you offer financing on orders?
We now offer order financing through QuadPay with which you can split your order total into four interest-free payments to be paid off within six weeks. When asked for your payment information at checkout, just choose the QuadPay option and you will be directed to their website to finalize the order. Please note that QuadPay only accepts Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, and Discover.
Do I have to set up an account to place an order?
We do not require that you create an account, but creating an account can help with a quicker checkout in the future as well as offer other perks like free shipping on certain orders and exclusive sales.
Can I make changes to my order after placing it?
For any order changes, please contact info@trewgear.com. Order changes can only be accommodated up to 6 hours after the original order is placed.
Can I ship internationally?
We ship our gear around the world via DHL Express Worldwide. Delivery time and cost are dependent on order size and destination. To learn more, please visit our International Orders page.
Does TREW sell gift cards?
TREW Gear sells gift cards that are redeemable for purchases on www.trewgear.com and at our flagship store in Portland, OR. Learn more and purchase here.
When will my order ship?
Orders received by 11 AM PST will ship same day; all other orders will ship out the following day. Orders are not processed on the weekends and orders after 11 AM PST on Fridays will be considered a weekend order to be shipped out the next business day. Tracking numbers will be emailed to you at the time of shipment.
Do you match prices if an item goes on sale after my purchase?
We will happily honor price adjustments on full-price merchandise within 7 days of the retail purchase. We do not honor any price matches on any items that have already been discounted.
Can I use multiple promo codes at checkout?
You are only able to use one promo code at checkout per order. Other offers advertised on the website without a code will be automatically applied and cannot be used along with a separate promo code. If your order qualifies for an advertised offer and you also enter a promo code, we’ll apply the best deal.
Can I use a promo code on top of another promotion?
You can use one promo code per order. If you’ve encountered two valid TREW promo codes during your travels through the Internet, please choose the one you want to use more.
What if my requested exchange item is not in stock?
There is a possibility that the item you request is not in stock at the time of processing. If that is the case, then we will reach out to you to let you know. All refunds are credited to the original form of payment.
What currency are the prices on the website?
All prices are listed on the website are listed in US Dollars. To see prices in your local currency, update the SHIP TO country accordingly - located in the top right corner of our online store.

Gear Care

When should I wash my outerwear?
Anytime your gear is dirty, throw them in the wash and clean them up! Dirt and grime can get into the pores of the fabrics, and when those pores get plugged up the material will begin losing its ability to shed water and breath as intended. Washing (and drying!) your items regularly wil keep your outerwear happy and working well, so that you stay dry on all of those pow days to come.
How should I wash my outerwear?
Washing your outerwear couldn't be easier, and to get you started we've created a fun and helpful video tutorial that you can see here. When you do wash your item(s), make sure to use either a technical detergent (Nikwax, Grangers, etc) or a gentle, plant-based household detergent - and make sure to tumble dry at low-medium heat after the wash cycle until the garment is dry!
Wait, I should be putting my outerwear in the dryer??
YES! While the common misconception is that outerwear shouldn't be dried, the reality is that washing AND drying your items will keep them living longer and performing better. Drying your outerwear is crucial, as it reactivates the DWR coating after the wash cycle - essentially restoring the waterproofing properties of the fabrics so that you stay dry when you head back out to the mountains. As a standard rule, we recommend tumble drying your item(s) at low to medium heat until the item is dry and warm to touch.
