BEST TIME OF YOUR LIFE!

Designed in collaboration with CAPOW Guiding of Revelstoke, British Columbia

Skinning up after our first run at the Blanket Glacier Chalet, I asked lead guide Marty Schaffer, “What time is it?” He pulled up the sleeve of his Capow Jacket, checked his watch, and answered, “The best time of your life.” Touché, Marty.

The Capow Jacket is the result of our collaboration with Marty and his staff of fun-loving, pow-hungry, hard-charging backcountry guides. As outdoor professionals, their main problem was finding outerwear that performs in all conditions. Our task was to build a jacket breathable enough to stay on for the uphill, durable enough for guiding, and fully stormproof and ready to dominate the downhill. We created the Capow Jacket to check all three boxes with authority, then added key storage and packability to ice the cake.

      A great all around shell

This jacket is perfect for everything. From stormy PNW days to cold, blower backcountry shredding, it gets the job done in all of it. It runs a tad on the baggy side, but I like that as I can throw it on over everything - even a puffy on the cold days. I'm 6'0" and 175lbs and I wear a Large.

      Crazy light, awesome fit

While I haven't been able to get out and board with this jacket yet, I can say that it is very waterproof and incredibly light and breathable. I bought both the Capow and the Cosmic in size XL just to compare and ended up sending the Cosmic back. The Capow fits a little more loose in the chest and is definitely longer in the sleeves and in overall length than the Cosmic. I do think that the Cosmic would be a little better for the person who rides the lifts all day and doesn't do as much backcountry because it's slightly heavier and would probably insulate a little more than the Capow (I'm guessing). I am 6'5" and 240 pounds and the XL Capow fits perfect - finding a jacket that fit right the first time that I can easily layer with was pretty exciting. Thanks Trew for making what I can tell is going to be a very quality product that I will enjoy for many seasons!

      Best Jacket Ever!

      I LOVE this jacket!

It is the best out! So perfect for every application!

I read this dudes review below named Marty Schaffer who says he's a guide somewhere in no-mans land in British Columbia. Canadians right...

If he likes it then it has to be one darn epic jacket I thought so I got one!!!!

After a season of putting it through the wringer as they say I was sold! This jacket is sooooooo sick!

Its stretchy like bubble gum, waterproof like a baby seal, the toughness of a yeti and even cool enough for my big brother to seal it from me. Yes, I was bummed since he stole all my other cool TREW gear. But, that's ok, I stole his girlfriend...just kidding, I had to get another one. Yes, same color so we match! It makes him mad that he now matches with his little brother, but that's what you get for swooping my jacket big bro. All his friends think I am him on the mountain...its hilarious. Or should I say all his friends thinks he is me on the mountain...oooooo plot twist.

Anyway, I love this coat and will side with this Marty guy below.

      Highly recommend

Thanks for the review, Corey! Sounds like you have some stuff to work out with your older brother.

Answer to Franks question on durability

I have just wrapped up 140 days using the CAPOW jacket. Above is a question from Frank regarding longevity of the lightweight CAPOW fabric. I use my jacket for work (guiding) and also lodge maintenance here and there (moving firewood, snowblowing snow, lifting heavy things in and out of helicopter, etc). We also have the whole CAPOW guiding team in the jackets (that's our team of 20 working full time). We have not had one issue with our jackets. The blue stretchy fabric bends and works with our job, while the reinforced brown shoulders and arms protect with water proofing and durability.

I have never seen a work jacket perform to this standard. The guiding team often wears the jacket on the uptrack too - something no other work jacket would allow us to do.

I stand behind this being the most reliable and best bang for buck jacket on the market.

      great touring shell

I own the TREWth Bibs, I'm a fan of TREW's dedication to colors and touring specific outerwear. In comparison to the TREWth, the Capow fabric is crazy light and stretchy. Unlike any shell I've ever owned. It moves and breathes well so well on the skin track. Blocks wind on the way down. Its so light maybe I worry about durability down the line but no problem yet.
