Harness the power of stretch merino wool to infiltrate the shogun’s ridgeline palace, and shred your way out under cover of pow. The wicking, thermo-regulating properties of natural, microfine merino wool fibers and remarkable stretch qualities of NuYarn construction make the Merino Chill Top ideal for the yo-yo, stop-and-go rhythm of backcountry touring. The low-profile full-range ninja hood provides a lightweight cocoon of warmth to tip the scales of motivation in your favor on cold morning starts.

Looking forward to winter and snow.
The ideal versatile base layer that can go days without needing a wash. Pop up the face mask and hood for those storm skiing days and chilly early mornings, then pop out of stealth mode when the sun is out. The perfect companion for the uptrack as well, allowing you to start off the morning bundled up and shed the face mask and hood layers as you get warmed up.
I added the Chill top to my collection of Trew merino layers last season and loved it! As someone who quickly overheats wearing a beanie, I loved bing able to start a tour with the built-in, lightweight hood, then flip it back as my body temp rose. At snack breaks and transitions, the hood could be flipped back up at a moment's notice.
Also, the merino can go days on end without being washed and not smell awful, much like the rest of Trew's base layers.
Highly recommended-5 thumbs up
I ounce spent seven straight days in the chill top.
Stranded in the powder heaven known as ferry meadows, some BC heli pilot had the nerve to just leave us there.
Seven days of skinning, shredding, more skinning, more shredding some beer drinking but mostly sweating.
The chill held out against the creature known as pit funk, which is derived from the Latin phrase arm pitus phunkus.
The merino is comfy on the skin and seems to be rather lightweight, two bonus rounds.
This is the go to on the daily. I own two sets and go back and forth all last winter, totalling over 140 days. I often tour up with just this on the outside, pop the hood up and over my hat and face mask when the elements get real. I use just hood and helmet on the down.
The wool is legit, I can go numerous days without the staank.
5 thumbs up
