Form and Funk-tion

It used to be you had to choose between a jacket with modern styling or a jacket that would keep you dry, hold all your gear, and last longer than a season. We believe style and substance can go hand-in-hand, and the Powfunk Jacket’s smooth and irresistible blend of function and form is our manifesto. Featuring a longer freestyle fit, storage options for days, and our highly breathable, weatherproof, and durable PNW 3L fabric, the Powfunk brings more to the party than your average technical shell. In the words of Funkadelic, “If you got funk, you got style”.

Powliament Funkadelic

After my old TNF shell wore out (wetted through halfway through a powder day) I knew I needed an upgrade. I learned of Trew through word of mouth and after researching different brands extensively, I decided on the Powfunk. I'm 6'4" and 225 lbs and the XL fits perfectly without being overly tight or overly baggy. There's tons of storage space and the hood fits great though with my XXL helmet I have to unzip the jacket a bit to get the hood over my helmet. I've had it out in one storm and it stayed incredibly dry for the whole day and I never had any issues with breathability. My only gripe is that the main zipper could be a little more burly (no reason to think it's weak it just feels wimpy) and the pocket zippers could have a larger pull tab for easier use with gloves. Otherwise, I have no complaints and think this is a great jacket. I'd plan to buy from Trew for any future ski apparel needs as well!

Awe-Struck PowFunkadelic Experience

The P-Funk is TREW-mendous.

I broke it in at Snowbird/Alta before the holidays. The color, material, look & fit are awesome.

My spec’s = 6’1” >225lb post-boomer

The XXL fits mighty fine.

The pockets rock, but it occurred to me a few times that the zipper tabs and pulls could be more glove friendly.
Another minor nit (splitting molecules now) is the hang tab could be more stout, in case I had to belay a buddy with it.

The hood is exceptionally exceptional!
BPF (Before P-Funk), I only wore a jacket hood very limited bassist due to irritating fit and poor visibility when helmeted.
Last weekend I happily wore P-Funk Hood for hours in 50-60 mph winds because it had magnificent peripheral vision & I could freely turn my helmeted head. Actually forgot my hood was up.

Congratulations on designing & fabricating a stellar Powfunk experience!

The Best

I give this jacket 11/10, it is simply the best freeride jacket on the market! Everything about it is quality from the design, to the engineering, construction and style. Clearly a ton of thought and care has gone into every aspect of the jacket, which translates to the best possible experience when wearing it in imaginable conditions. I also have the Capow jacket for backcountry and have dozens of other Trew pieces at this point, all of them are superior quality and style at a much better price than the competitors. Plus you are supporting a rad, indie company composed of real skiers/riders and outdoor lovers. Every customer service experience I have had with Trew has been above and beyond the call of duty on their end, it's obvious they truly care about their customers, take pride in their products and stand by everything they make. I just finished a ten day ski road trip through BC and the PNW and wore nothing but Trew gear the whole time. I was warm, dry and stoked from frigid days in Revelstoke & Kicking Horse, to warmer pow parties at Mt. Baker. For specs I am 6', 200 lbs with broad shoulders/long arms (77" wingspan) and wear an XL in the PowFunk, a slightly baggy fit on me which I prefer in a ski shell. Pick one up, you will not regret it!

Built to last

This is a premium shell that is built to last. Everything about this screams quality craftsmanship and I love the Plum color way. Don’t muck around with cheaper alternatives. One trip out in this baby and you’ll know it’s made for life.
