Cosmic Charlie, how do you do?

When the universe demanded a durable ski shell that was equally comfortable climbing peaks as it was spinning laps on a chairlift, we delivered the Cosmic Jacket. It’s been ten years since we first heard the stellar request signal on our deep-scanning radio telescope, and we’ve been in touch with the ancients ever since, making small tweaks and constant improvements while never losing sight of their intergalactic vision. A highly practical ski and board shell, finely tuned to the everyday demands of the modern backcountry rider, yet as timelessly stylish as a 1985 shortbed pickup or a double-handed broadsword.

Offering simple, yet thoughtful features like a wrist pocket for your pass, lighter, and lip balm, internal mesh pockets for goggles or climbing skins, and fuss-free stretch hood gussets to seal out the storm, the Cosmic delivers everyday useability while our PNW3L three-ply shell fabric provides durable protection from whatever the galaxy throws your way.

A quick story about Trew Customer Service and the Cosmic Jacket

Please note this review is about Trew Customer Service when ordering the Cosmic Jacket.
I had my eye on the Highlighter color wave of the cosmic jacket ever since I saw it on Trew's website. Fast forward a year latter and an advertisement popped up on my Instagram feed for that exact color in the cosmic coat at 40% off. After following the ad trail onto Trew's website I was disappointed to see that no sizes were left in that Highlighter color. So I sent a kind private message saying that I would have loved to purchase that coat had it been available for me and the size I needed. A day latter Trew customer service hero Katherine Donnelly PM'd me back on Instagram saying she was so sorry for the delay but she tracked down a model sample in my size and color. In minutes after I answered she emailed me a link and the coat was in my hands one week later with free shipping also! Kathrine checked in with me 3 times during the process communicating each time where it was and what was happening. It was one of the best customer service experiences I've had with a company in many many years.

Also - I am 5'8" - 160lbs and the medium fits perfectly- room enough for an insulation layer, but not too big that I feel like I am swimming in the jacket. Since I've yet to take it into the elements - I cannot comment but it feels like a very well made wearable.

      Best jacket out there

Bought a Cosmic last year and love it so much I had to get another one. Fit is on point according to sizing chart and colors are even more fire in real than on the site. Big fan!

      Great jacket

Great jacket. Fits exactly as I want. I just wish I could avoid the powder bib as the trewth bibs have me covered

I love it. It does hug tight around my butt so it is a little restricting when I bend down but that could be solved with a bigger size.

      Nice kit, baggy fit

Super nice, comfortable material, and looks great, but I found the fit much too baggy for my preference. I have other trew jackets in the same size (different model years), and would say this jacket fits a full size larger in the same tag size.

Also, I would consider wrist gaiters a critical feature for my riding conditions so was dissapointed that they don't exist on the cosmic which is marketed as a fully featured freeride jacket. The elastic on the cuffs is a nice touch but does not replace gaiters for me.

Otherwise, its a nice piece of kit that is durable, waterproof, plenty of storage pockets, and very good looking!
