Form and Funk-tion

It used to be you had to choose between a jacket with modern styling or a jacket that would keep you dry, hold all your gear, and last longer than a season. We believe style and substance can go hand-in-hand, and the Powfunk Jacket’s smooth and irresistible blend of function and form is our manifesto. Featuring a longer freestyle fit, storage options for days, and our highly breathable, weatherproof, and durable PNW 3L fabric, the Powfunk brings more to the party than your average technical shell. In the words of Funkadelic, “If you got funk, you got style”.

Powfunk Jacket

So far this jacket has been excellent. At first I was worried the sleeves were too long but after wearing it now on several trips to Mt. Hood it's great to be able to move freely and still have the cuffs stay over the gloves right where they belong. Pockets in all the right places and feels very well built, not to mention IMO very stylish. Very small detail I wish it had is a loop to hang it up with but you can use the hood or a hangar.

Super Stylish, Functional Jacket

Great fitting and stylish jacket (XL at 6'1'' /180) that's delivered in the rain, pow, and on the uptrack. The Redwood colorway pops in photos and the consistent stream of compliments keep will keep you feeling fly on the hill.

Pretty great jacket but fit is strange

Really quality jacket-but warning unfortunately it fits really strangely. I'm really surprised not to see reviews stating as such. I am 6'0 ft .5 inches, 180 lbs, pretty standard body type, slightly longer, lanky arms, fairly broad shoulders. I really wish I noticed before I used it at the mountain, because I would have 100% returned it. People always compliment the look, but I unfortunately have to warn them about the strange fit. I am 34 inch waste, 31-32 inch shoulder/arms.

I should fit perfectly in a large according to the sizing chart. In fact my arms should be slightly too long for a large! The sleeves are sooo long, although not a huge deal, but the bunching with gloves on is annoying.

Also, I am a 34 waist, the sizing chart says even a medium should be OK. It cant be the case because when I sit down on the chairlift, it gets really tight around the waste and bunches up everywhere. This is with a a bib and a thin sweatshirt on underneath.

Overall- good looking, quality build, waterproof- but it fits weird which makes it slight uncomfortable and distracting on the mountain. Try on with all of your gear you might wear with it before bringing to the mountain.

If i didn't follow the size guide to a T, I would be a less unsatisfied.

powder to the people

I've been wearing the powfunk for seven years now, that's seven years of heavy abuse. The average day for my powfunk jacket looks like this. Snag it off the drying rack, toss it in the gear bag. Then it usually gets in the van for anywhere from an hour to two hours. Then comes the real fun either skin tracks or sled tracks or both. The funk prefers to be blowing in the wind so i try to meet its needs. It packs down fairly small and beads water like a champ. The fit is ideal for dragging your knuckles and the colors are on point.

Excellent ski jacket

I always feel like the spokesperson in a bad infomercial when I start talking about this jacket to friends. I love the thing. Its been my primary ski jacket for two seasons and has held up to 100+ resort days of heavy abuse. Skiing through branches, sliding on hardpack, falling on boxes, it has held up to it all. There are pockets in all the right places and allow me to carry passes, phone, keys, buff, and a gopro without looking bulky. The vents provide great breathability, and the fabric itself breaths well even when closed up, so its been on my back touring in the snow. The jacket holds up well to the wet snow of the PNW, and there was only one day of 5+ hours in rain and slush that it soaked through in places. Other than wearing a trash bag its hard to do much better. There have been far more times where friends in other jackets were complaining about the wet, while I was still warm and dry. I'm 6'2" 160 and got a med
ium, which fits great over other layers.
