Like a fresh acai bowl from the gals at the hippie mart, our Lightweight Wool Bottoms make the ideal foundation for a crisp day in the mountains. Stretchy, thermo-regulating, and odor-resistant thanks to the miraculous qualities of NuYarn merino construction, they’re your first-choice first layer for snow adventures—so when they get dirty, you’d better have a backup pair. See, nature already invented the perfect base layer fiber—NuYarn just improved on perfection.
Well known as insulation for cold-weather adventures, wool’s best-kept secret is how its natural wicking and thermoregulating characteristics allow for versatile, 4-season comfort. Our NuYarn® Merino Wool has a smooth, silky surface, and is the quickest drying and toughest merino wool around. Own less, play more.
The 125 Superfine NuYarn® Merino is the lightest merino fabric in our fall collection.

For base layers these are the bomb. No material I've tried comes close to these in terms of warmth/weight/durability and especially not getting funky after days of use. These should be standard issue for any/all hut trips because they don't get that nasty base layer stench that synthetics get. They're also far more durable than most other merino wool items I've tried so there's that!
As for the length, I'm a fan. They were designed to be in between a 3/4 and full length and they nailed it. You don't want full length bunching up in your boots and 3/4 can get a bit short and leave gaps depending on your sock situation.
Merino wool is the best man, just the best.
I haven't worn synthetic base layers since i got my grubby little mitts on a set of the chill bottom.
Long life span, tons of comfort, great fit.
Get yourself saddled up today
So not bashing the other guy in the review comments here but the length makes perfect sense.
Let me explain.
If its a bit shorter then wtf is Trew thinking right? and if its a bit longer than it gets in the way of your socks, ankles, boots and there is just too much fabric in a tight spot.
So having this 4/5 length is perfect, goes in a couple inches into the boot and voila! Modern day voodoo magic baby.
In all honesty these are great, i wear them over 150 days a year. To go climb 20,000ft peaks, to go to the discoteca and dance in Chile, and even to go be basic at starbucks. Multi-purpose lightweight wool bottoms.
Must get the tops to match or else you have no body funk shway
Love the length, fits perfect above the boot line.
Awesome fit on the legs.
The wool is simply the best, breaths but loooove it when things get cold.
I'm looking for a liightweight stretchy merino 3/4 pant that no brands make. The pictures made this look to me like it would make sense to wear with boots or ski boots and not have a huge clump of pant at the top of my boots.
So i spent money to ship this to myself, and didnt see the fine print that only exchanges are free, not returns for refund. So i spent like $15 to find out these pants are too short to wear with lower boots, but too long to wear with ski boots or higher boots. Cool.
