Harness the power of stretch merino wool to infiltrate the shogun’s ridgeline palace, and shred your way out under cover of pow. The wicking, thermo-regulating properties of natural, microfine merino wool fibers and remarkable stretch qualities of NuYarn construction make the Merino Chill Top ideal for the yo-yo, stop-and-go rhythm of backcountry touring. The low-profile full-range ninja hood provides a lightweight cocoon of warmth to tip the scales of motivation in your favor on cold morning starts.
Me: I've skied in this for 100+ days, worn for countless miles of mountain biking in cool weather too.
Sleeves are too short. Great product but built for a couch potato not an athlete. Bring in the cut around the torso and lengthen the arms to something more in line with how Black Diamond is making clothes lately and you'll have something worth five stars. Right now it just feels too big for a base layer. That said the hood and built in face covering is on point and the fabric is great, hence the 4 star review. Good news is that for some reason there is a double layer of material in the cuff so with a little knife work and some sewing you can add a couple of inches to the sleeves without messing it up too bad.
ALSO: WTF ON NO WOMENS VERSION OR A TON OF EXTRA SMALLS FOR ALL MY FEMALE ADVENTURE COMPANIONS?!
Please make a women’s version! XS is always sold out! We need baselayers too! 😆
Lightweight Chill Top
Honestly, I don’t know how I skied for 35 years without it. Perfection.
