Soon to become the most valuable garment in your arsenal, the Up Jacket features a DWR-treated superlight stretch nylon rip-stop fabric that blocks wind, repels light rain, and packs up to the size of a beer can. Perfect for shoulder-season hiking, running, riding, and training, the Up Jacket provides breathable, supremely packable protection from the elements that fits in your pocket. It's up for anything—biking, climbing, scrambling, dancing or prancing—and we’ve heard the fish can’t spot our tie-dye either, although they may just be caught up in the groove.
*The Black-Ice Tie Dye is a "real" tie-dye, not a print. Therefore, like a snowflake, no two Tie Dye Up Jackets are the same. You're extra-special and we celebrate that with these one-of-a-kind creations!

I loved this jacket it was my go too for mountain biking, trail running and spring ski tours. It's amazing how warm and wind proof it is for how light it is. My only gripe is with the jackets durability. I didn't expect it to stand up to the abuse of a traditional shell but when I snagged a tree on the skin track out the entire arm blew apart. Hopefully its fixable
I'm up for that! ...I'm up for anything. Like a mail order bride, as soon as this beauty showed up at the front door we were attached at the hip. With every peak and valley of our relationship we have each others backs. The one piece that comes on every adventure, seriously so stoked!
Bought for summer adventures but will turn this jacket into the go to touring piece on the up track. Tie Dye for the win!
Love this jacket (really it fits more like a shirt), it is unlike any other garment I've owned. I'm amazed at how well it cuts the wind and can keep me warm while being so lightweight and comfy. I bought this to wear mainly for work as I work outside in San Francisco (right by the GG Bridge) every day. It is normally 60-70F and windy 99% of the time so this fits the bill perfectly for spring, summer and fall in SF. I tend to "run hot" so if I were to wear something heavier I would get too warm, as I am usually on my feet most of the day. This jacket is super breathable so I don't find myself overheating at all. I've also started wearing it hiking, mountain biking, even ski touring this spring on the uphill. My ONE criticism and the reason I gave 4 thumbs up instead of 5 is that it would be nice if the hood were stowable or even removable. I've found that on windy days when I am not wearing the hood and have the front zipper unzipped at all, t
he hood tends to blow around in the wind and hit me in the face, which can get distracting. Wearing the jacket fully zipped lessens this problem but it still exists. Perhaps the next iteration of the Up jacket Trew can add a velcro tab or some means of stowing the hood when not in use. Other than that this jacket is perfect in my opinion! For sizing I got a Large, I am 5'11" 200 lbs, 34 inch waist, 42 inch chest, 77 inch wingspan. I'd say this jacket has an "athletic" fit - particularly in the shoulders but I have pretty broad shoulders for my height. The sleeve and front/back lengths are perfect for me. Oh and most importantly, I got the tie-dye which is awesome. It actually has a greenish tint in some of the tie-died spots which I love, but doesn't show up in the photos on the Trew website where it looks gray and black only. In a city full of dudes who wear black north face softshells with slacks and think they are stylish, I get a lot of looks and comments while wearin
g this jacket around town which I appreciate. Thank...
I can't speak to the products I ordered for a mountaineering trip or any TREW product because I was severely let down by the "non retail" based company. I ordered the Up Jacket and Nuyarn shirt and long sleeved shirt on Monday with 2 day air for an expected delivery of Thursday. Come Thursday around 2:30pm, no package. I checked my bank statement and it showed and charge pending (I called WF and asked about that, they said the charge was expected to go through that evening.). Called TREW customer service to inquire about said shipment, was told that my card was declined and the order did not go through (even though funds were being held by TREW for the order). After a very helpful customer service call, I was informed that the best course of action was to re-order the items and have them shipped to my hotel in WA (ordered products for a mountaineering trip in the Cascades- based my entire layering system and packing off having the i
tems). I was given a verbal guarantee that the items would make it to my
Hotel by Friday afternoon (this Friday May 27th). It's now 9:13pm and I am without items....but I did receive an email from TREW that they shipped the items at 7:41pm for a "guaranteed" delivery tomorrow (where I'll already be on the mountain). This is a complete and total let down and failure of any and all expectations from me as a customer and TREW as a business.
Needless to say my experience has been less than par with TREW. I was extremely pumped to not only try out this amazing brand but be a supporter of a more locally produced and sustained company.
I'm not sure what my future will be with TREW but if it continues I truly hope it is a more positive experience than this.
***If you are on any sort of time crunch be wary of shipping, even if you choose the appropriate shipping option to meet your desires.
A great piece of kit that will not weigh you down. The up jacket packs down to the size of an apple and works extremely well as a wind shirt and a light rain top. I carry this in my day pack and the up jacket is perfect for those cool Oregon misty mornings. The jacket is very durable despite the gossamer like weight. I have worn this jacket for more than a year and the jacket still looks new. The fit is true to size and packs nicely in the top flap of my ruck. Another piece of quality technical wear from the folks at TREW. Keep up the great work with your bomber gear TREW. Wear the TREWTH!!!
